COOKIES, WEBSITE TRACKING, AND VISITOR IDENTIFICATION

The Unseen Step uses cookies, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand website activity, measure advertising performance, identify potential leads, and support marketing and follow-up.

These tools include Meta Pixel and Lead Hacker on certain pages, including the Lead Leak Checkup page.

Tracking tools may collect information about your browser, device, page visits, and interactions. Lead Hacker may identify visitors without a form submission where matching information is available. This means we may receive information about a potential lead even if that person has not contacted us or purchased a service.

We may use this information to understand interest in our services, measure advertising results, create advertising audiences, and conduct outreach where permitted. Identification as a website visitor does not by itself mean you have agreed to receive marketing text messages.

Third-party tracking providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies.

You may manage cookies through your browser settings. These settings may not stop every type of tracking or remove information already collected. You may also contact [email protected] to ask about tracking or request that we stop direct marketing to you.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may share information with providers when needed to operate our business or deliver your requested service. These may include:
• Website and customer-management platforms, including GoHighLevel
• Payment processors
• Email, phone, and scheduling services
• Cloud storage and document tools, including Microsoft OneDrive and Google Workspace
• AI providers, as described in Section 5
• Visitor-identification, analytics, and advertising providers, including Lead Hacker and Meta
• Accounting, legal, and other professional advisers

Depending on the service, these providers may process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. Tracking-related disclosures are described in Section 3. The text-message consent protections in Section 6 also apply.

We may disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

AI-ASSISTED ASSESSMENTS

With your recorded agreement, The Unseen Step may use OpenAI’s API service to help review questionnaire answers, business documents, consultation notes, and other information relevant to your assessment.

AI may help organize information, identify possible workflow problems, and draft findings or recommendations. Sue reviews and approves the client report. AI does not replace her judgment, and its results can contain mistakes.

Each case’s AI request includes only materials associated with that case.

OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the account holder opts in. OpenAI may retain information in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default, with longer retention in certain circumstances, including legal or safety requirements. OpenAI’s own terms and data-handling rules also apply.

You may contact [email protected] with questions about AI processing or to withdraw your agreement for future processing. Withdrawal does not undo processing that has already taken place. We will discuss how withdrawal affects any unfinished service.

TEXT MESSAGES AND PHONE COMMUNICATIONS

With any required consent, we may use your phone number to respond to an inquiry, communicate about an appointment, provide information about a requested or purchased service, or deliver a report password separately from the report email.

Marketing text messages require your opt-in. Providing a phone number or being identified by a tracking tool does not by itself mean you agree to receive marketing texts.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

To stop text messages, reply STOP. For help, reply HELP or email [email protected].

Mobile information and text-message consent will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be provided to messaging service providers as needed to deliver messages, but not for their own marketing.

DATA RETENTION

Client assessment records

We keep client assessment records for two years after the last contact. Records are reviewed for deletion once a year, so they may remain for up to about three years after the last contact.

Contact includes calls, meetings, messages, and emails in either direction. If we send three consecutive emails without a response, the third unanswered email is the last contact date used for this purpose. Later unanswered emails do not restart the period. A later client reply or renewed contact starts the period again.

When a case is deleted, we keep a limited record of the client’s agreement to AI processing for three years after deletion. This record contains the client’s name, agreement date, and case-deletion date.

Backups

Deleted case information may remain in older password-protected backups. Our routine is to make a backup monthly and keep only the newest three copies on the laptop and backup drive.

When that routine is followed, older copies are usually removed within about three months. Missed backups or delayed removal can extend that time.

Other information and service providers

The assessment-record schedule does not automatically apply to website tracking data, prospective-client records, payment records, accounting records, or legal records. We retain these as reasonably needed for their purposes and applicable obligations.

Information may be kept longer when needed to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute.

Deleting a case does not immediately remove every copy held in backups or by service providers. Service providers may retain information under their own applicable terms and legal obligations.

SECURITY AND REPORT DELIVERY

Client assessment records are stored on a protected computer and in Microsoft OneDrive. Safeguards include Windows sign-in protection, device encryption, password-protected backups, and review before a client report is released.

Finished reports are emailed as password-protected PDFs. The password is sent separately, normally by text message to a confirmed phone number or by phone call. Each client receives a different report password.

These measures reduce risk, but no computer, cloud service, email system, or electronic file can be guaranteed completely secure. A PDF password protects the attachment; it does not protect the email account itself.

YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS

You may contact us to:
• Ask what personal information we maintain about you
• Request a correction or update
• Request deletion
• Unsubscribe from marketing communications
• Ask us to stop direct marketing to you
• Withdraw your agreement to future AI processing
• Ask questions about tracking or how your information is used
• Exercise other privacy rights available under applicable law

We will consider requests under applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting.

Some information may need to be retained for legal, accounting, transaction, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping purposes.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our website and services are intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. This policy does not cover their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing personal information.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy when our business practices, services, technology, or legal requirements change.

The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. We will provide any additional notice or obtain any additional consent required by applicable law.
